Once again, I am fundraising for COMPASS Refugee Centre by participating in the Ride for Refuge. I would be grateful for your support.
COMPASS is currently serving 1, 800 clients from 80 countries. Staff and volunteers, a number of whom have have been refugees themselves, welcome those hoping to find refuge in Canada, help them navigate a complex and lengthy legal process, and enable them to become part of the community in the places they now find themselves. If you would like to know more about this, please visit our webpage: compassrefugee.ca/our-voices/stories/
We are living in a world made poorer by distrust and hostility toward the stranger. A world that is daily being made smaller by the erection of fences and borders that separate families and isolate us from others, all ostensibly in the name of keeping us safe. The work of COMPASS makes manifest a different world. It builds communities in which we can all thrive, be secure and safe. For me, the work of COMPASS is important not only for living out an ethos of hospitality, welcome and security, but also because it is working towards creating the kind of community that I want to live in.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
With gratitude,
Naren
