If you are reading this I'm inviting you to help support refugees and refugee applicants in Canada. If you know me you know how much we support refugee newcomers. Most come from terrible, often violent, situations in their home countries, and receive very little in the way of government help, while struggling to recover from their experiences and also navigate a strange new culture.

I'll be riding 10km in the Ride for Refuge on October 4th. I'll be raising money for Compass Refugee Centre, a donor funded charity that provides support to people coming to Canada to escape war, famine or persecution. Most of the people they help have few sources of funding, and rely on the help of Compass to navigate Canadian culture, and the housing and legal systems. Every dollar goes to improving the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in our country.
