Why I Ride

I’m proud to be part of this year’s Ride for Refuge to support the work of Back Door Mission here in Oshawa. Every day, I see firsthand the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health struggles, and addiction. At the Mission, we provide essential services, safe spaces, and compassionate support to hundreds of people who often have nowhere else to turn.

I ride because I believe everyone deserves dignity, safety, and hope. A warm meal, a safe night’s sleep, or simply a caring presence can mean the difference between despair and the strength to keep going. These aren’t luxuries—they’re necessities, and together, we can provide them.
