In 2013, my family and I came to Canada from a refugee camp, an opportunity made possible by the incredible generosity of the community in Waterloo. It wasn't just a single organization but a network of kind strangers—neighbors, friends, and the members of Glen Acres Baptist Church—who raised thousands of dollars through events like the Ride for Refuge to change our lives forever.
That act of kindness has stayed with me. Since 2013, I have been a dedicated participant in the Ride for Refuge because it's my way of paying that generosity forward. With so many people around the world in need of a safe place to call home, I believe it's our collective responsibility to help, no matter how small the action.
By supporting my fundraising, you are directly contributing to the life-changing work of this organization. You are helping to provide a safe future for someone else, just as others did for my family.
Thank you for being part of this important mission.
With much gratitude,
Elias
