My Message

I wanted to take a minute to share why I’m walking in the Coldest Night of the Year 5K.

Since stepping into my role as Executive Director of New Journey Community Outreach, I’ve learned more than I ever imagined. I’ve learned how much strength people carry even when life has knocked them down again and again. I’ve learned how deeply people long for connection, belonging, and hope. And honestly — I’ve learned that the need is far greater than I ever realized.

The guests we serve aren’t looking for something extraordinary. They want the same things we all want: to be seen, to be known, to feel safe, to feel whole. Many of them are just in a place where it’s incredibly hard to imagine how they’ll ever get there. That’s where New Journey comes in — to walk alongside them, offer dignity and compassion, and remind them they matter.

This fundraiser helps make that possible. The funds we raise through Coldest Night of the Year allow us to provide whole-person care — not just meeting immediate needs, but creating space for healing, community, and belonging.

If you’re able to support our walk, I’d be so grateful. And if donating isn’t something you can do right now, that’s completely okay — sharing this, encouraging us, or simply holding this work in your heart truly means a lot.

Thank you for being part of my world and for caring about people the way you do. I’m grateful for you. 💛

With gratitude,
Christie
