Coldest Night of the Year supports families facing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. Funds raised go to Mission Services of London, a Christian faith based non profit offering meals, shelter, and support programs.
I joined this event in Oakville last year. I chose to lead a team again because I stepped outside one night and felt the cold run through me. I thought about people trying to sleep in that weather. People maybe look at me as tough person, but I truely do I have soft spot.
More of a reason I chose to do this: my mom faced homelessness in 2003 during the blackout with three of my siblings. My grandma stayed in a hospital bed in Newfoundland and my mom stood alone here in Ontario. This cause holds deep meaning for my family.
I lead this team as a member of Sigma Chi Western. Strong service work shows our values and strengthens our name in the community.
Join my team or donate. Your support strengthens this mission and brings real help to people in need.❤️
