I'm going to be walking in a 5k with my team to raise money to support the local Women's shelter again this year. So I'm sending you this message because I want to ask for your help in supporting the mission of Emergency Shelter Services in Berrien County, MI. Not only do they help mothers and their kids find a warm place to stay and meals to eat when they are going through hard times but they also help people secure more permanent housing.  It is a wonderful organization that has been doing this work for a long time.  

I hope that you will pledge something to help support this cause so they can get more people off of the streets in this brutal cold and into a warm safe place where they can worry a little less about their next meal and receive the help they need to get back on their feet and into a home of their own. 

It takes $37/day to house and feed one person. As of right now they estimate there are about 1353 homeless people in Berrien County, last year about half of the people the shelter helped were children.
