My Message

It's cold out there . . . and once again this year, together with friends, neighbours and thousands of Canadians across the country, our family will be walking and fundraising to support people and families experiencing hardship, hunger, and homelessness in our community. Specifically, proceeds from our walk will go to the Red Door Family Shelter in Leslieville. Since 1982, Red Door has provided emergency shelter and support for women and children affected by domestic abuse, families experiencing a housing crisis, and refugee claimants with nowhere else to turn. They're a real pillar in our neighbourhood and we're proud to be partnering with them once again. We hope you'll join us in supporting their good work by clicking the "Donate Now" button above and giving what you can. Thanks so much!

Dear Mighty Wroxstars ??, It’s cold. Like “why do I live in Canada again?” cold. The kind of cold that makes your eyelashes question their life choices. AND YET—once again—you legends are pulling on your boots, zipping up your parkas to your chins, and heading out to walk for something that truly matters. While the rest of us are negotiating with our thermostats and pretending we’ll “go outside later,” you’re out there fundraising to support families facing hardship. Thank you and stay warm

While the rest of us are negotiating with our thermostats and pretending we’ll “go outside later,” you’re out there fundraising to support families facing hardship, hunger, and homelessness—specifically our incredible neighbours at the Red Door Family Shelter. Since 1982, Red Door has been showing up for women, children, families in crisis, and refugee claimants, and frankly, if kindness burned calories, you’d all be absolutely shredded by now. So walk proudly. Strut, even. Think of every step as a small but mighty victory over winter and injustice. We’ll be cheering you on from the warm side of the window and hitting “Donate Now” with gloved fingers (or at least very warm ones). You’re doing something wonderful. You’re doing it together. And you’re doing it while cold. Which makes you heroes. Slightly chilly heroes—but heroes nonetheless. Go Wroxstars. ?????
