It's cold out there. And this February, I'm doing something about it.

I'm walking and fundraising to support families experiencing homelessness in Berrien County — because life can change in an instant.

We all know how unpredictable life can be. Job loss, health crisis, unexpected tragedy... any of us could be one crisis away from losing everything. It's not something people plan for. It just happens.

My grandmother lived this reality. When my grandfather died suddenly at 48, she was left with no income and twelve children to feed. Without a community that stepped in to help, she could have lost her home.

That's why I'm stepping up now, for families facing their own unimaginable hardships.

I'm volunteering with Emergency Shelter Services at our Coldest Night of the Year 5k, with a goal to raise $500 for those most at risk in our community.
