It's cold out there...

On February 28th, I am participating in Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY), a 5 km walk that raises money for folks in our community who need our help. In Thunder Bay, money raised supports "Grace Place", a local shelter that does a lot more than just offer a warm bed out of the bitter cold. 

The first time I participated in the Coldest Night of the Year two years ago, I was completely blown away by seeing their facility. A former store in the downtown core, Grace Place provides many services for those in hard times…some homeless, some struggling with mental illness, and some fighting drug additions. 

A warm meal, clean pyjamas for the night, a laundry service, a hair cut/shave, access to clothing donations, a nutritious breakfast, and a lunch-to-go. These are only some of the services Grace Place provided.
