Walking to Support Local Kids & Families
I’m proud to be participating in Coldest Night of the Year 2026 as part of Team Northwest Métis Council, walking the 5K right here in Dauphin to support the Food for Thought program.
Right now, over 800 local students are registered with Food for Thought, with about 750 children receiving meals every week. That’s 1,500 meals weekly, made from scratch by incredible volunteers — at just $3.33 per meal.
With the cost of living rising, food insecurity continues to impact families in our region. In Manitoba, 1 in 5 children live in food-insecure households, and child poverty rates remain among the highest in Canada. Access to nutritious food makes a real difference in children’s health, learning, and well-being.
Every donation — even $5 — goes a long way and has an immediate, measurable impact.
If you’re able, please consider supporting my walk by donating here:

Thank you for helping ensure local children have the nourishment they need to thrive. Together, we can walk for warmth, dignity, and hope.
