This year, I’m walking in the Coldest Night of the Year with my family and the mobilizers from Start Me Up Niagara’s Mobile Closet.
I walk because I have spent over a decade alongside people who are surviving systems that were never designed to catch them.
I’ve watched someone cry over a pair of socks.
Not because they were socks.... but because someone noticed.
Homelessness is not a personal failure. It’s a policy failure. A systems failure. A capacity failure.
The Mobile Closet exists to remove barriers to offer dignity without paperwork, choice without judgment, and warmth without conditions.
When you donate, you’re not just funding coats and boots.
You’re funding access.
You’re funding care.
You’re funding the quiet moments where someone feels human again.
We will walk in the cold so others don’t have to face it alone.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing.
