Friends and Family,
I’m excited to be gearing up again on February 28 to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year, a winter walk fundraiser supporting those who are hungry, homeless, and hurting in our community.
A personal update. It’s been meaningful to look back on this CNOY journey and how I’ve shared that homelessness has been part of my family’s story. My brother spent much of his adult life experiencing addiction and homelessness. After many attempts at rehab, something finally shifted. He is now over two years sober and continuing on a slow but steady path toward recovery.
This past May, my brother turned 40, so I bought him a guitar. Then last month we put on a little concert together to play songs for our mom’s birthday. I love watching him play and hearing him sing, and I’m so grateful to be getting to know him better and walking alongside him on his journey.
It’s because of organizations like Our Place Society, and many others across Canada, that people like my wonderful brother are able to get the support they need to heal.
Would you consider donating to support this cause? I would be grateful for any amount of donation you could offer.
