It’s cold out there.
And for some young people in our community, there isn’t always a safe place to land at the end of the day.
On February 28th, I’ll be walking in the Coldest Night of the Year to raise funds for the youth shelter where I work. This cause is deeply personal to me because I see the impact every single day. I see how quickly things can unravel for teens and young adults — family breakdown, housing instability, poverty, mental health struggles. Situations no young person should have to navigate alone.
I also see their strength. I see courage in youth who are trying to finish school while figuring out where they’ll sleep. I see relief when someone realizes they’re safe for the night. I see hope begin to rebuild when they’re met with warmth instead of judgment.
Our organization is aiming to raise $20,000 to support youth in our community this winter. I’ve set a personal goal of $250, and I’m asking my village — friends, family, colleagues — to help me make a difference.
This walk is symbolic. I’ll step into the cold for a few hours, knowing I can go home afterward. Some young people don’t have that certainty.
If you’re able, please consider sponsoring me. Every donation — big or small — helps create warmth, safety, and hope for youth who need it most.
Thank you for standing with me and supporting young people in our community this winter. ❤️
