Help communities access fresh water

There are so many life-giving reasons to help a community access fresh water, including:

1. Families, including young children, won't have to walk for hours each day to collect water that is often unsafe for consumption.

2. Fresh drinking water will help decrease the incidence of water borne diseases, and improve the health and hygiene of the entire community.

3. Families will be able to plant a small garden and raise livestock.

Increasingly, with the help of Chalice-funded water systems, schools are using fresh water to incorporate school farms. Children help plant, water, and care for the gardens, and some have even formed shool gardening clubs. The harvested produce from the farms helps provide fresh vegetables and fruit for school feeding programs, improving children's overall health and ability to focus in school.
