WELCOME GODDESSES
Like you, we love the annual Venus de Miles ride – how it brings communities together, the celebration of sisterhood, the incredible show of support for the Scholars. We also love our communities and want to help the flood victims however we can. That said, we have decided that this year, while Venus de Miles 2013 will go on, it will be quite different than in years past. Instead of the Venus de Miles ride, we are organizing three alternative activities for our riders to take part in: a Venus de Miles community volunteer day, Sisterhood for Neighborhoods and Venus de Miles Unity Rides*, all followed by a Venus Appreciation Gathering in Prospect Park.

What are my activity options for September 29th:
· Sisterhood for Neighborhoods: Venus riders will volunteer at projects in the flood-affected neighborhoods identified by Venus de Miles.
· Unity Rides*: Small groups of Venus cyclists participating in independently-organized rides; Venus de Miles will offer route suggestions.
· Venus Appreciation Gathering: an afternoon event for Venus riders to gather an enjoy food, beverages, social activities, and inspiring opportunities to interact with the Greenhouse Scholars and other riders.

*Please note: if you choose to ride, this is a self-guided and unsupported ride. We have mentioned several rides that are favorites among area cyclists, but they are not official routes and will not be inspected or supported. You are responsible for selecting and organizing your ride and for making sure the ride route and conditions are safe for you and your friends. Greenhouse Scholars will not provide traffic control, security, aid stations and other support. Like any other ride you do on your own: Be safe, take care, and have fun!
