I Step Up for...
I Step Up for my son, Rocco James DeRobertis. My husband and I received a prenatal diagnosis when I was 20 weeks pregnant and that moment changed our lives forever. We didn't know at the time but that little extra chromosome would bring so much love and change our hearts in ways unimaginable.
Rocco's life started off with a few road bumps {two stomach surgeries for duodenal atresia, 3 heart conditions, and jaundice} but through our Down Syndrome community, we found support to press on through.

By walking and fundraising with us you are helping families like ours! Through the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida, we have been blessed in many ways! Earlier this year we were the recipients of the Detro Scholarship which helped us get Rocco into private oral therapy. Rocco was born with low oral muscle tone {tongue protrusion and feeding issues} and we have seen a great improvement in the way he eats and uses his tongue after this therapy. More importantly, we have been included in one of the most beautiful communities I've ever been a part of. We have found other families like ours who we can share life with.
Thank you for partnering with us! We look forward to seeing you at Lake Eola in October!
