Peter, actually anytime is fine up until the deadline (usually about a month after the walk. This year I was given a SASE for mailing in all the cheques for our team. All at once or as they come to you are both options.

The fact that you don't know each other doesn't matter, BUT now let's roll that ball and make it bigger by talking to people you know about the walk. Strangers have no difficulty saying no to a young person, but your family, relatives, piano teachers, coaches will have a really hard time saying no to you. You may not even have to ask.
