The weather is quite cold, and on February 22nd, we will join countless Canadians in a walk to raise funds for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hardship, and hunger. This year, JGC Fluor is participating in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event in Kitimat, with proceeds benefiting Tamitik Status of Women, an organization that provides essential support to those in need within our community.
This is our second year participating in CNOY, and we are eager to establish a fundraising target of $7,500 for Tamitik Status of Women. This initiative is crucial for many in our community, and we believe that embracing challenges can lead to significant change. Through our volunteer experiences, we have encountered stories of struggle that have deeply impacted us. Events like this underscore the precariousness of basic needs, prompting a greater appreciation for simple comforts such as warm showers and a safe place to sleep. No one in Canada should have to struggle for these fundamental necessities, and we are committed to addressing these challenges at the community level.
We have witnessed the transformative impact of Tamitik Status of Women. Their services provide pathways to improved opportunities, and your support can genuinely make a difference. TSW offers a variety of free resources, including food, clothing, life skills training, and mentorship, aimed at connecting individuals with the necessary support to help them succeed. They are dedicated to empowering individuals to actively pursue their aspirations, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency within the community. We recognize that there are many worthy causes, and your generosity can create a meaningful impact.
