Hello my friends,

It's that time of year again when I lace up my shoes and hit the pavement to raise funds for Home Horizon Georgian Triangle. An annual tradition in our household, I will be walking alongside my wife and our two young boys, making it a family journey of compassion and commitment.

As many of you know, I have the honor of serving as the Board Treasurer for this incredible organization. I am deeply committed to our mission of making a positive difference in the lives of at-risk youth by ensuring they have access to safe accommodation and the support they need to thrive.

At Home Horizon, our goal is to empower vulnerable young people facing the daunting challenges of homelessness. We provide a 10-bed transitional home in Collingwood—the only facility of its kind in the region—and support a comprehensive Outreach program that interacts with over 135 youth annually. Our services are vital: we supply food, essential supplies, and access to medical consultations, along with referrals for further support, especially for those living rough.

Imagine being so overwhelmed by the challenges of not having a safe place to sleep that it becomes nearly impossible to focus on school or secure a part-time job. Recently, our Outreach worker began assisting a group of teens aged 13–16 who are living in a tent city in Collingwood—a reality I can hardly fathom for someone so young.
