It’s cold out there, and people in our community are feeling it.
This February, the Masters of Human Rights Students’ Association (MHRSA) at the University of Manitoba is walking in the Coldest Night of the Year. We are raising funds for The Leftovers Foundation, a food rescue charity ensuring good food goes to people, not landfills. Your donation directly supports food security in Winnipeg and helps families and individuals access meals when they need them most. If you’re able, please consider giving by clicking Donate Now above, or joining our team to fundraise alongside us!
As students in the Masters of Human Rights and Masters of Law and Legal Studies programs, we’re committed to putting human rights into practice beyond the classroom. That means showing up for our community, supporting local organizations, and acting in solidarity with people experiencing hunger, housing insecurity, and hardship.
Since 2020, The Leftovers Foundation has helped provide over 2.3 million meals to Winnipeggers in need, grounded in the belief that good food should never be wasted when people are going hungry. Through this walk, we’re proud to stand alongside thousands of Canadians taking action on the coldest nights of the year.
Thank you for supporting community care, dignity, and action, and for walking with us, even if just in spirit.
