Our Message

For those that don’t know I am a part of a charity called the Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Foundation that runs a yearly (10th annual this year) pond hockey tournament in Cochrane that raises funds for local charities. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our family and friends since my sister-in-law's passing over $2.2 million dollars has been raised in her name. In the 4 past years over $500,000 has been raised for the charity Children’s Wish on a goal of $500,000 in 5 years. This year the tournament runs January 19-21. If you don’t know what Children’s Wish does here is their mission statement:
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada works with communities across the country to provide children with life threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt wish. By creating unique, meaningful experiences, Children's Wish enhances quality of life for these courageous children and their families.
Through funds raised the last 4 years at the Kimmett Cup upwards of 50 wishes have been granted. Funds raised at this year’s Kimmett Cup will again go to granting wishes.
This year carries special weight for me as Taylor and I are dedicating all funds raised to my friend and Children’s Wish recipient Tristan who spoke so eloquently at our charity golf tournament back in October. Please watch Tristan’s story here:

It is with funds donated by people like you that Tristan was able to receive his wish. Unfortunately Tristan lost his courageous battle with Leukemia on December 22nd. We are heartbroken for his parents Loreli and Todd and his younger brother Keiran. We were blessed to have Tristan as part of the Kimmett Cup family and will use his example as inspiration to continue on. Tristan’s obituary can be found here: http://www.mhfh.com/garrett-tristan-jonathan/
I’m sharing Tristan’s story as I want to carry on his quest of helping others much the same as we have all done for my sister Lindsay. Tristan said:

"Giving back is one of the best things you can do. It is truly amazing the power that kindness can have. There are no words to describe the power of kindness"

So if you have some giving planned this year and hadn’t decided who you wanted to help out let me suggest Children’s Wish! To donate to the cause you can follow the link below:

As always my family and I are overwhelmed by your continued generosity and are forever grateful.
Thanks,
Jocelyn
