Our Message

In 1997, Hyman Brock died of acute myeloid leukemia, 6 weeks after diagnosis.  Almost exactly 7 years later, in September 2004, his son William was also diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, but thankfully, due to decades of scientific research and a stem cell transplant from his brother, William survived and is now thriving.
To celebrate 15 years of survival, WIlliam and his team (Kilimanjaro 2020!) have accepted an incredible challenge: to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, and raise a record-breaking  $1,000,000 for the fight against cancer – the highest amount raised by a team in Team In Training’s global 30 year history!

Money raised supports the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada as well as the Maryse and William Brock Chair in Applied Research into Stem Cell Transplants (Université de Montreal).  With your support, we can advance research to fight a disease that has touched so many of us, and make a real difference in the lives of patients and families currently in the fight of their life.

Our team will be training hard in preparation for this adventure, and we have set our sights on achieving incredible physical and philanthropic goals.  Show your support by joining the team or making a donation today, and claim your spot in the legacy of Kilimanjaro 2020!

Help us climb a mountain, together we will reach the summit, and together we will cure blood cancer.

*Please note that as funds raised are divided between both the LLSC and Université de Montréal, donor information is shared securely between both parties strictly for administrative purposes (no solicitation).  If you wish for your information not to be shared with Université de Montréal, please contact Jessica.Dupuis@lls.org
