Our Message

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a lay Catholic organization.   Volunteers with SSVP are called Vincentians.

We invite all Vincentians in Calgary, and their friends and family, to join our team to walk with us and raise money OR to donate to our team or to any of our team mates. .

It's cold out there. And on February 22, our team is going to do something about it. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, we're walking and fundraising to support and serve hungry, homeless, and hurting people and families in our community. Please, give generously by clicking the "Donate Now" button above. Thanks!

I know it has been put out by the West Particular and Central Presidents. I'll give a friendly reminder to them to send out another invite to all the conferences!

I think our best bet is to go after other Vincentians beyond our parish borders. How can we get their email addresses? Especially parishes that we support. Seems to me that the registration fee is low but the "earning" potential of a walker who is set on doing some fund-raising would really up our ante. Even a walker who registered to walk but didn't actually want to walk (though the optics aren't as good) but did want to use the online fundraising tools......just saying.

St. Peter's spaghetti dinner is that night so our "competition" is a warm meal! Hard to beat but I agree that getting more walkers is great too! I'm always putting the word out!

Okay Rina, let's up it by $400, a 20% increase. But let's try each of us to bring one more walker in and double our team size?

Many thanks to Veronica for supporting our team. Actually, we're on a bit of a 'push' now and hers is the first fruit of that effort. So, especially rewarding!

Hey Rina and Joy, Wherever two or more are gathered.....it's a... TEAM!! a team now in numbers as well as in name. We are off to a good start. Let's keep our eyes on the prize -- meeting or exceeding our goal of raising $1,500 for two wonderful causes that serve the poor among us.
