Our Message

It's cold out there. And on February 20, our team is going to do something about it. Together with thousands of Canadians across the country, we're walking and fundraising to support and serve people and families experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger in our community.

The “Faith in Action Team” of the Salt Springs, Scotsburn-Lyon’s Brook Pastoral Charge has again registered team “Coldest Night Warmest Hearts” in “The Coldest Night of the Year Walk”, in support of Pictou County Roots for Youth Society in New Glasgow on Saturday, February 20th. Pledges can be provided to any walker or via this web page.

Donations can also be provided by placing cash or a cheque payable to “Coldest Night of the Year” into an envelope and dropped into Christine’s securely locked mailbox at 16 Tannery Lane in Lyon’s Brook. To receive a receipt, please include your name, address, phone number, and email address with your donation.

A tax receipt will be issued for each donation of $20 or more (if email or mailing address is provided with donation). To walk with us, please register by informing Team Coordinator – Christine MacKenzie 902-753-6563 or

Please, give generously by clicking the "donate to team" button above, or "join the team"!  Thank you!
