Our Message

On October 2, Hillsiders & Friends will be riding the Ride for Refuge to call attention to refugee needs. We'll be raising funds for Journey Home. Find out more about this great charity at .

By participating in the RIDE, we're speaking for people who have little or no voice and who often get left behind or ignored. And by fundraising, we're supporting a charity who is bringing hope and refuge to those same people. Thanks for supporting us! #ride21

Ride Details:
Saturday October 2, 2021
9:00am start

Meet in the parking area of Colony Farm at the corner of Colony Farm Road and  Lougheed Highway. This year there is less space available for parking, so if possible please park elsewhere and make your way to the start point for 9:00am.

There is parking at the end of Colony Farm Road at the community garden. There is a park and ride lot where Cape Horn and Mariner and United Blvd meet. Some may be able to ride from home.

The route heads east to Pitt River, turns west to the Poco Trail and completes a loop back to Colony Farm. The route is 26km long, flat, mostly off road. We will make a short (ten minute) washroom/snack stop on Argue Street at the five km mark and a slightly longer washroom/snack stop at Lions Park at the 20 km mark.

The ride is designed to be achievable for riders of all levels.

Each rider needs to bring: a bike in good working order, a helmet, snacks and drinks.
