Our Message

We need your help to reach more youth in need. Please considering sponsoring us with whatever you can. All donations are very much appreciated.

We are the Whi-SKI Blok. A group of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts who are lacing up our hiking boots to do something about homelessness and hunger in our community by walking and fundraising in The Coldest Night of the Year. Funds raised go DIRECTLY to the Collingwood Home Horizon and Barbara Weider House.

Home Horizon and Barbara Weider House help vulnerable youth in our area to get out of the cold. Barbara Weider House is a transitional house where 10 vulnerable youth reside and receive help to get from helpless to hopeful. In 2021, the outreach program from Home Horizon touched 60 youth that are living rough and in the 6 tent cities in our community.  Home Horizon works with youth facing complex and challenging barriers including poverty, mental health and addiction challenges, sex trafficking, racism, trauma and conflictual home lives. Their programs are aimed at providing things like meals, hygiene products, life skills, mental health support and much more to vulnerable youth in our community. At any given time there are 20 local youth, on the waiting list.

Please consider sponsoring one of our team members [by clicking on an individual's name] or donate to the team [by clicking on the "Donate to Team" button at the top of this page].

Many thanks from the Whi-SKI Blok and Friends
