We are doing this in honour of Carl Vanderspek who cared deeply about folks living in the downtown eastside.  He was committed and passionate about improving the lives of those struggling to find their place in the world. I miss him so much today and every day. He wanted to make our world better. He especially wanted to empower those who could change lives through their caring actions. He saw First United and their caring team amongst those who have a positive impact on the least able of our community.
