The Coldest Night of the Year will be on February 25 at 4 pm and is to raise money for the services in the community that work with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hunger, and other hardships. The Coldest Night of the Year works to recruit 28 teams of 7 to 8 people to do a 2 and 5 km walk to raise money for local charities.
For many people in the community housing, getting food, having safety, support systems and most of all hope is hard to find. Hope is what helps so many people feel that they are not alone in this world and that though they are in a dark tunnel right now there is a light at the end of it. As a community, we need to help those who are feeling hopeless see that there is hope and support in our community and that people do care about them.
Therefore, the Axis Angels will walk like thousands of Canadians across the country to support and serve people and families experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger in their community.
