Arminda

Hi, my name is Arminda! I am an 8-year-old girl who lives in Cochabamba, Bolivia. I am the oldest of three girls in my family. I live in a 1-room house with my parents and my 2 sisters. Our home has brick walls, cement floor and a tiled roof. I am in good health. I am in grade two at Max Fernandez Rojas School and my best subject is Language. I want to be able to continue going to school to get a good education because I want to become a teacher when I grow up. I love to run and play with my sisters. At home, I help my parents by caring for my younger sisters. Many children in Cochabamba are working on the streets to try to earn enough income to stay in school. The PENNT Sponsor Site helps these children and their families. In response to the high school dropout rate, the site has a schooling programme that helps children in four locations throughout the city. The goal of the site is to improve the quality of life of the sponsored children through the implementation of prevention, attention and protection activities. In addition, the site promotes and consolidates spaces of holistic formation for children who are at risk of abandoning school.
