About The Artist
Ben Sellick is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. His recent works are assemblages of thousands of tiny pieces of paper.
Sellick cuts and produces the pieces with a three-hole-punch and desktop spiral binding machine. Then, using an X-Acto blade, tweezers and glue, he meticulously and methodically arranges each individual piece, one at a time, into various shapes, patterns and forms. The process is a highly repetitive performative act which demands
concentration, commitment and dedication.
Sellick studied Illustration at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont., and graduated in 2004.
