About The Artist

Pierre Poussin is a Canadian artist who specializes in creating large-scale public art installations and permanent artworks for municipal clients and urban developers. Recently, his work has evolved into more abstract pieces which embrace themes of local history, nature, movement, community, identity, technology, and the relationship between natural and urban landscapes. His work examines series of inherent contrasts in our environments: natural vs industrial, history vs future, dynamic vs static. Please view full size of the brain here

We Are All Stardust

We are all stardust - our atoms were created in our stars' atomic hearts. As a child growing up in Northern Canada, Pierre was obsessed with clear night skies. Watching the Milky Way’s blanket of stars humbled him and left him with a sense of awe. While reading his mother’s university books, Pierre stumbled upon a simple concept by Carl Sagan that had a profound effect on him: “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff.” Our atoms, and ourselves, are scatterings of stardust.
