Sport Manitoba partnered with local author Sean Grassie to write and publish Iconic Stories from 150 Years of Sport in Manitoba. This book celebrates iconic sport stories over Manitoba’s 150 years of existence. Sean, along with Terry Frey, Jim Bender and Judy Owen of the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association (MSSA), and Rick Brownlee, the Sport Heritage Manager at Sport Manitoba, were the team who identified the 150 stories included in the book, with the help of the public via a story submission window. 

Iconic Stories from 150 Years of Sport in Manitoba features stories of Manitoba’s greatest sport champions, events, and memories. Proceeds from the book sales will be donated to KidSport Manitoba, a national charity that helps remove financial barriers that prevent kids from participating in organized sport.
