65 Roses Sports Club

The Ottawa Chapter of Cystic Fibrosis Canada operates the Senators 65 Roses Sports Club in partnership with The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and other dedicated sponsors to create a unique and special season ticket holder experience.

All proceeds generated by the Club’s revenue help support the fight against cystic fibrosis. Not only will you enjoy great hockey, but you’ll also be making a positive difference in the life of a child or young adults with cystic fibrosis.

“65 Roses” is the childhood term for the disease cystic fibrosis (as most children cannot pronounce cystic fibrosis). Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults and currently, there is no cure. It is a multi-system disease that affects mainly the lungs and the digestive system. In the lungs, where the effects are most devastating, a build-up of thick mucus causes severe respiratory problems. Mucus and protein also build up in the digestive tract, making it difficult to digest and absorb nutrients from food.

The Ottawa Senators 65 Roses Sports Club began in 1996 when a partnership formed between the hockey club and the charity to help bring hope to children suffering and battling the life threatening disease. Since 1996, the Ottawa Senators 65 Roses Sports Club has helped to raise over $900,000 in support of health research and care into finding an effective control and/or cure to the disease.
