Background

On July 16-19, 2015 the inaugural Westmount Tradition Charity Doubles Tennis Tournament took place in support of local patient care at Grand River Hospital. Funds raised go towards the purchase of a CT Scanner, essential for the care of patients with cancer or suspected strokes.

Since it opened in 2003, GRH's regional cancer centre has provided radiation therapy to more than 14,300 patients in 294,000 visits, and chemotherapy to more than 18,000 patients in 130,100 visits.  It has also hosted 50 clinical trials involving over 600 patients.

Annually, GRH will see 800 potential stroke cases in its Emergency Department; 500 of these patients will be admitted into the stroke program.
