ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION

This annual event is a fun, family-friendly 5K run/walk to support the more than 8,200 athletes of Special Olympics Minnesota. Your support helps to provide year-round sports training and competition to athletes across the state. Invite your friends and family to join you for a evening of fun and exercise as you support a great cause and enjoy the beautiful scenery this urban area offers.

The 2017 Dave Ryan's 5K will be held Sept. 14 at Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE, Minneapolis, MN. Registration runs from 4:00 - 5:45 PM, and the 5K starts at 6:00 PM.

The race is open to all ages and ability levels — walk or run at your own pace. The 5K participation fee is $35. Online registration will close on Sept. 12 at 11 p.m. After online registration is closed, participants may register at the day-of registration booth; fees will increase to $40 for the 5K. Participants will receive an event shirt and drink ticket.

Packet pick up - Mill City Running

Pick up your race bib and participant shirt early! If you're collecting packets for other runners, please make sure to bring a letter or email from the participant authorizing the pick-up. There is also day-of registration available from 4:00 - 5:45 PM.

Free parking, provided by the Minneapolis Parks Police, is available at Boom Island Park. Space is limited, so carpool if possible! There is additional parking available on surrounding streets.

Children 5 and under are FREE if pushed in a stroller, buggy or carried by an adult. Child does not receive a shirt and is not eligible to win an award. You will not need to register the child.

Refund policy
Charitable contributions are non-refundable, and your registration fee is considered a charitable contribution and is therefore non-refundable. No transfers allowed.

Event cancellation policy
We reserve the right to cancel an event due to inclement weather. Safety of participants and spectators is always most important to us, and we work with FOX 9 Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard and law enforcement to be sure conditions are safe for participants. If you cannot attend the event or the event is cancelled, there will be no refunds. All possible attempts will be made to contact those involved by email, website and social media. No refunds or transfers allowed.
