Fundraising Tips & Prizes

Download the pledge form for collecting offline pledges.

Fundraising is as easy as asking!

Fundraising may seem like an intimidating challenge, but it really is as easy as asking.

Here are our top tips for fundraising success:

1. Ask everyone you know, friends, family, neighbours, and work colleagues. You just never know who may hold the causes close to their heart, or who may simply want to support you to help you reach your goal.

2. Ask often. It often takes multiple asks before someone follows through with a donation. Life is busy and your request may have been forgotten. Our recommendation is to ask once and remind up to three times.

3. Personalize your online giving page with your photo and personal story, or why the cause and reaching your goal is important to you.

4. Set the bar by making a self-pledge. People will see your commitment and be more likely to support you. Also, your self-pledge will set a precedent for what others will donate.

5. Start early! The earlier you start asking, the more time you'll have to reach your goal.

Fundraising Prizes

This year, the top five fundraisers will be awarded awesome prizes. The top youth* fundraiser will also win a pretty sweet ride!

The top fundraiser will be awarded an indoor bicycle trainer, generously donated by STAC Zero and valued at approximately $500! The STAC Zero is the quietest bike trainer on the planet, and it's made locally in New Hamburg, Ontario! It delivers a smooth, powerful, and completely silent indoor training experience without touching your wheel.

The second top fundraiser will be awarded a Tail Rider Trunk Bag complete with a Rear Pannier Rack valued at approximately $225! These items were generously donated by Arkel Bike Panniers and Bags.

The third top fundraiser will receive $150 in gift cards from BackPeddling - King of Bikes!

The top youth* fundraiser will be awarded a DCO youth bicycle generously donated by Vettor Small Engine & Bicycle.

The team to fundraise the most will win a party hosted at The Bike Shed, official sponsor of Tour de Guelph's Community Team Challenge. At the team party, your team members can try out smart bike trainers and experience the thrill of cycling gaming with Zwift or any other cycling app. Up to eight people can ride at a time. The party may be scheduled for breakfast or lunch and will be catered.

*To qualify as youth, the fundraiser must have been born in 2002 or any year after.
