By supporting Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids, you will empower Toronto youth facing financial and social barriers through the transformational experience of summer camp. Camp exposes kids to nature and allows them to discover their full potential. 

Who We Support

Amici is committed to making camp accessible for children from low-income families. In fact, 80% of the families Amici supports are living with incomes less than $31,000 per year before tax. Many of our campers live in single parent households with multiple siblings. Some children have special or high needs, with further added costs. There are also Amici families who face more than financial barriers: having experienced trauma, physical and sexual abuse and, in some cases, fled war zones. For them, summer camp is so much more than a place to discover 21st century skills, it's also a place to feel safe and that they belong. These are the people you would be empowering with your support.

Your Impact

With your support, Amici campers can “just be kids” without the judgement that often comes with living in poverty. When you invest in our program, you invest alongside a community of camp partners who match donations that send kids to camp. Amici and its partner camps also commit to sending each of our campers to camp year after year until they have outgrown the program or until there is no longer need for financial support. It is this multi-year commitment that allows campers to develop 21st century skills like resiliency, collaboration, teamwork and communication, which will support them throughout their adult life.
