The YMCA Walk of Life is a fundraising event in support of cardiac health and rehabilitation. All proceeds raise important funds to ensure everyone has access to important programs like the YMCA Healthy Heart Program. Participants who raise $100 or more will have their registration fees waived.
All individuals or teams who register for the Walk of Life will be set-up with a fundraising page. We encourage all Walk of Life participants to share their personalized fundraising page with their friends and families and get support for this great cause! The Walk of Life will happen rain or shine. Please plan ahead in order to make sure you are dressed appropriately.
Strollers are allowed on the trail but be aware the trails aren’t paved. Please be sure children stay on the trail at all times.
Yes, dogs are allowed. Please remember dogs must be on-leash and on the trails at all times.
Mundy Park boasts 400 acres of coastal rainforest that is home to numerous plant and wildlife species, including a number of rare and endangered species. There have been sightings for large animals such as deer and black bears. Be alert at all times and be sure to keep your dogs on leash. Read more about wildlife concerns.
Packages can be picked-up at the Kintec store in Port Moody at Suter Brook Village (#9-400 Capilano Rd) the day before on May 24th from 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm.
Your walk package can also be picked up on the day of the event at the registration table between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00a.m.
It's not a problem for you to pick up packages for others, just bring a list of names.
Parking is available in the Hillcrest Middle School parking lot, Mundy Park or along the road by Hillcrest Middle School.
The walk will begin and end at the Hillcrest Middle School paved playground adjacent to Como Lake Avenue.
Bring your own water bottle and help us save disposable cups! Water stations will be set up at the Hillcrest Middle School paved area and along all trail routes. On the map below, the water stations are indicated with stars. There is one on the 3km trail, one on the 5km trail and one at the main area of Hillcrest Middle School.
A first aid station will be set up at Hillcrest Middle School paved area. There will also be mobile first aid responders on bikes throughout the walk trails.
