John Beeden's Fundraising Page to support Advancements in Cardiovascular Surgery

My name is John Beeden and since November 23rd, 2011 I have been attempting to make a solo Atlantic crossing in a 6.25m ocean rowing boat.

Through a gift to Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, you can sponsor me and support advancements in Cardiovascular Surgery.  I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.  I do read all of your emails!

My journey started in Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands and will finish at Port St. Charles in Barbados, approximately 2600 nautical miles (approx 3000 imperial miles). I will be totally unassisted once I leave the Canaries and rather than do the crossing as part of the Atlantic rowing race I will row independently. I decided on the independent option because I feel this challenge is a personal battle between the rower and his boat against the Ocean and Mother Nature. The crossing should take between 50 and 90 days depending to a great extent on the weather conditions.

I will be fully funding the project myself so 100% of your donation will support advancements in Cardiovascular Surgery at Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals.
