A Rescue Mission
UNICEF-USA reported in 2013 that there were about 21 million victims trafficked around the world* and approximately 80% of trafficking involves sexual exploitation**. Because of widespread and devastating impact, human trafficking has earned the epithet, “modern-day slavery”.

The Canadian Bible Society has recently partnered with the Bible Societies in Ghana and Guatemala in providing help to victims of human trafficking through their Bible-based trauma healing program. The Bible Society in Ghana, through their program “Rescue Mission for Vulnerable Teenage Girls,” aims to reach out to girls between the ages of 12 and 17 who have been lured into prostitution due to poverty, broken homes and ignorance.

The Bible Society in Guatemala initiated the program Free to Live: Rescuing Girls of Sex Trafficking after reports revealed that Guatemala ranked first in terms of the number of incidents of human trafficking in Central America. They brought this program in shelters established by the state for victims of human trafficking.

Together, we can help victims of “modern-day slavery” heal through God’s Word.

Help bring God’s healing Word to innocent victims of human trafficking

Human trafficking is a violation of one’s rights and dignity. It’s a crime against humanity. And it’s a crime against God who created men and women in His likeness.

This crime inflicts unimaginable pain on its victims, especially children and adolescents. They are traumatized physically, emotionally and psychologically. And without intervention, these victims will carry their wounds for life.

Right now, thousands of victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse in Guatemala and Ghana are crying out for help. They need the restorative message of God as written in His Word:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives... to comfort all that mourn...”– Isaiah 61.1-2

Your support today will be put to work:
  • the distribution of Scriptures to help victims understand their worth and God’s restoring love;
  • spiritual counseling to child and adolescent victims of trafficking and sexual abuse; and
  • help sustain specialized Bible-based trauma healing workshops to show victims true freedom and healing in Christ.

Please reach out in compassion to those who are suffering right now by making God’s Word available to them and providing opportunities for them to find healing through Bible-based trauma healing workshops.

$30 will provide Bibles to 3 victims in Guatemala.

$50 will provide God’s message of love to 5 children around the world.

$500 will provide materials for a workshop for abused children.
