Safe Food Handling Certification

     

      

On September 1, 2006, Toronto bylaw 678-2006 came into effect, requiring food handler certification for all food handlers working in the food and or beverage industry. Second Harvest offers its agency partners the Food Handler Certification Course to help support their food programming and provide affiliate community members with resume-building accreditation's. Participants will be trained in best practices for preventing food-borne illness, and upon completion of the program will receive a 5-year certification. In partnership with TrainCan, an accredited food handler certification program, Second Harvest offers the course to its partner agencies for a subsidized rate of $10 per person. Payments must be made via cash, cheque or credit before the course begins.
