In the recent weeks, COVID-19 has impacted the lives of Canadians everywhere, includes those of the women and children at the YWCA. These unanticipated circumstances have put significant strain on our organization as we continue to service our clients through these uncertain times.

Many of our guests at the our emergency shelters are experiencing incredible hardship as their lives and progress have been brought to a standstill as we navigate the uncertainties around the COVID-19 crisis. For one of our shelters guests, this global pandemic has meant remaining homeless until the threat of illness subsides.

Chloe is a mother of two young boys, Ethan and James, staying in one of our emergency shelters. Together, Chloe and her boys looked forward to moving into an apartment all of their own - a place to finally call home. But when the virus struck Niagara, Chloe, like many Canadians, lost her job and has been forced to stay put to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

After months of working hard in our Skills Development programs and saving up money to get a place of their own, Chloe and her family now feel stranded and left with little hope.

These are troubling times for many Canadians but especially for the women and children living in our emergency shelters. When hope feels lost for many of our guests, we look to you for support to help our guests through the uncertainties surrounding this pandemic.

As we navigate this unfamiliar territory together, please consider making an emergency donation of $49 to help us get through these times. Your generosity will put healthy meals on the table and keep the lights on at our emergency shelters for the people in our community who need it most.

Thank you for being a beacon of hope for those feeling lost amidst this crisis.
