Help Temika Moore Support Mission Work in Lusaka, Zambia

This past summer Temika Moore had the pleasure of working with Meant 2 Live Foundation  for Splendor Fest, a Washington, DC event.  The purpose of the initiative was to bring awareness to the issues the homeless community faces and provide resources to help meet immediate needs. The event provided blessing bags, clothing, food, haircuts, personal toiletries, biblical encouragement via Pastor Marcus Gill, as well as musical inspiration from musicians within the community including Inspirational Soul Singer/Songwriter, Temika Moore.  As a result of her participation in the event, she was asked to participate in the organization's outreach efforts in Zambia as well as bringing Splendor Fest to Zambia.

Temika Moore is joining a passionate team of fellow missionaries, traveling to Zambia, where over 1.6 million orphans reside, the highest per capita in the world. Meant 2 Live Foundation's mission is led by the belief that all humans are meant to live a meaningful life of purpose. They provide funding and support educational, medical, culinary, and spiritual development programs that seek to empower impoverished lives around the world.

The mission trip is for 9 days in Zambia,  June 1-10, 2018 and will focus on evangelism, outreach, music ministry, school projects, farming, teacher training, shoe distribution, leadership training and more! The trip will end with a Splendor Fest celebration for 310 orphans and their guardians as well as the hard working servants and missionaries living in the community in Zambia.

This is sure to be an unforgettable experience. In preparation for departure, Temika Moore is seeking support, financially ($3,000 which will cover the flight, lodging, food expenses, etc., and also include tools and resources for the community in which she'll be serving).  Will you consider a gift of $100, $50, $10 or even $5? Donations are tax-deductible.

Through the support of mission trips like this one, and your donation, Meant 2 Live Foundation has the potential to help hundreds of orphaned children in Zambia. I hope that you find it in your heart to give, even the smallest donations will help us reach our goal to impact many lives in one of the poorest areas of the world!

Quick Facts about Zambia:

Safest country in Africa

Predominately Christian

Bill Gates stated Meant 2 Live Foundation's Coptic Mission Hospital is the leading healthcare facility in Zambia

English is the most commonly used second language

M2L is partnering with the local Coptic Church in Zambia to join their services and activities under the guidance of Father Abraham Fam. The Coptic Orthodox Church in Zambia was established in 1987 by Bishop Antonios Morris. Today it has grown to include four churches, a hospital, a clinic, a Hope Center for Infectious Diseases, three orphan schools, and several other projects. The orphan schools care for over 310 orphans and vulnerable children, providing the children with academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional support. The hospital, which includes an outpatient and inpatient ward as well as a diagnostic center, cares for charity and non-charity clients. The staff is made up of outstanding doctors and specialists who care deeply for the patients. The Hope Center for Infectious Diseases has over 6,000 patients enrolled and provides for free ARV’s for HIV positive patients and offers VCT counseling and adherence, and pediatric support to mothers.

What will M2L do there?

Evangelism & outreach
Farming & planting flowers
Build & fully stock a Music Room: Includes purchasing equipment through local Zambian businesses. The purpose is to help children funnel their energy into creativity and not crime or drugs.
Host the first Splendor Fest at the main school.
M2L is partnering with IMPACT Collective, a DC based event planning company dedicated to giving back, to take Splendor Fest international! The uplifting experience that we provided to the homeless in DC will also be offered to the local community in one of the poorest countries in Africa. Special Project: Nehemiah, a Washington DC musical artist, will record a song with Charles, one of our orphans who has aged out of the program and was in a drug rehabilitation center. While there, Charles wrote 21 songs, and it is his dream to produce music full-time that glorifies God!
So why Africa?

1.6 million Orphans in Zambia, the highest per capita in the world
68% of rural and 32% of urban orphans in Zambia are not enrolled in school
In Lusaka, 75,000 children are living on the street
Nearly two-thirds (63%) of Zambians receive less than $1 dollar a day
Every 60 seconds, 14 children die of hunger related causes
Each day, 6,500 people die in Africa from preventable diseases
This is where the poorest of the poor live
And they were meant to live also

For just $1.17 per day, you can save a life! In Zambia, your pocket change goes a long way. It can provide the basic needs for one a child such as food, clothing, medical assistance, books, school uniforms, and more importantly a quality education which can lift them from poverty. Just imagine if you gathered your friends and family members together, you could literally save an entire community. It can be done. Together we can make it happen. We truly hope that you can care for 1 child. Through your sponsorship, 2 lives will be changed: yours and that of the child. Now you can finally be the change that you always wanted to see in the world! I appreciate your support. Donate
