Tournament Rules

Please review.  Your acknowledgment and agreement to abide by the rules will be required during the registration process.

1.    Only those workers who are essential to the weigh-in will be allowed to blast-off in the first flight. These boats will be drawn randomly and independently from the remaining anglers fishing.

2.    For all tournaments, blast-off will be conducted using the flight system. The maximum number of boats in each flight will be determined by the Tournament Director- Frank Wodzisz (the boats will be divided into equal numbers). They will check in at the conclusion of the tournament at fifteen (15) intervals. Example: Depart at 7:15 AM; check-in at 3:15 PM. The tournament director has the responsibility to ensure that people are properly checked in at the beginning and at the conclusion of this tournament.

3.    National anthem to be played before tournament begins.

4.    A polygraph test will be given after the tournament and must be passed. The Tournament Director will determine who takes the polygraph test.

5.    The use of cellular telephones, two-way radios, or any other type of electronic communication equipment or devices used to communicate between tournament contestants shall be prohibited for this tournament. However, this equipment may be used in the event of emergencies to summon help.

6.    If fishing individually and your boat breaks down or you encounter a medical emergency, contestants are authorized to flag down another tournament contestant to have them bring their fish to weigh-in. Contestants do not have to leave their boat stranded. If fishing with a partner, the boater or non-boater can carry the fish to weigh-in.

7.    Under no circumstances can a contestant change boats or fish with another boater.

8.    Trailoring will not be allowed for this tournament.

9.    All contestants must be present at the tournament site at the conclusion of the event or they will be disqualified.

10.  Creel limit for this tournament is 5 black bass/large mouth, small mouth or spots, 12 inches or longer. Bringing more than a creel limit to the weigh-in station will cause the contestant(s) to be disqualified. You shall not have in the live well more than a tournament limit at any time. Dead fish do not count in the live well limit, unless it is your intention to include as part of your 5 fish creel limit, understanding there will be a penalty for dead fish.

11.  Short bass (less than 12 inches) found in the contestant’s catch at the inspection station will cost the contestant the short fish plus their big fish. If two (2) short fish are found, the contestant will be disqualified. For fish other than largemouth, smallmouth and/or spotted bass brought to the weigh station, the short rule applies.

12. A requirement of this tournament will be that each boat will be supplied a Fishiding artificial fish habitat that the angler(s) will be required to deploy into the lake at some point during the tournament hours. A question will be asked during the polygraph if this was done correctly.

13.  All fish turned in at the weigh station become property of the PotashCorp Fish Back Tournament. All live fish will be released. One mountable fish may be kept by the contestant provided they notify the Tournament Director- Frank Wodzisz, at the weigh station.

14.  Only one rod per fisherman may be used at a time. Others may be rigged for use. Only casting, spin-casting, and spinning reels may be used.

15.  Only artificial lures and/or artificial bait may be used. No live or prepared bait is allowed.

16.  Trolling or wading is not permitted.

17.  During tournament hours, contestants will not fish within fifty (50) yards of an anchored boat. An anchored boat is defined as having your trolling motor up and your anchor out.

18.  All fishing must be done from your boat. Leaving your boat to land a fish is prohibited. Fishing from the bank is not allowed.

19.  Life jackets must be worn by contestants anytime the boat is on plane.

20.  All contestant boats must be equipped with Kill Switches. Kill Switches will be connected to the operator’s life jacket or person while the big motor is in operation.

21.  Aerated live wells are required in this tournament.

22.  Late penalty is one (1) pound per minute. Contestant(s) are disqualified after fifteen (15) minutes. Time keeper will be the Tournament Director or his designee.

23.  All ties will be decided by the big fish in contestant’s catch. The contestant must declare and identify their big fish to the weigh-in station official.

24.  All complaints and/or protests must be made to the Tournament Director- Frank Wodzisz, within fifteen (15) minutes after the conclusion of the weigh-in. The Tournament Director and the PotashCorp representative will settle all disputes. Their decision is final.

25.  Alcoholic beverages will not be consumed during tournament hours and not until all contestants have weighed their fish and the Tournament Director has made the announcement that “the scales are officially closed.” Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at Wildwood Park.

26.  Good sportsmanship is expected by all contestants. Disorderly conduct will be reason for disqualification.

27.  The penalty of two (2) ounces (0.125 lb.) will be deducted for each dead fish.

28.  The Blue Crying Board is the office measuring board.

29.  Hole-sitting is considered to be un-sportsman like conduct and is subject to disqualification.

30.  All contestants must abide by Georgia State fishing and boating regulation.

31.  Parking will be prohibited on the entire ramp area, to include the top of the ramp area near the trees and edge near the weigh-in facility. The ramp area needs to remain clear to allow for spectators to view the weigh-ins and allow vehicles to launch and recover their boats. Failure to abide by the rule will result in disqualification for the event currently being fished.

For all emergencies or issues during the event please call Joey Bruyninckx, PotashCorp Representative, 706-564-9583
