800 RUNNERS PARTICIPATED IN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN BENEFITING SPECIAL OLYMPICS QUÉBEC 

OLYMPICS QUÉBEC Montreal, May 13, 2016 – On May 12, the Law Enforcement Torch run simultaneously organized, all over the province, thirteen friendly 5k races, to benefit Special Olympics Québec. This benefit event, known as the Torch Run Relay raised $10 000. 

A UNIQUE BENEFIT EVENT WHERE 13 TORCH RUNS OF 5 KM WILL BE HELD SIMULTANEOUSLY ALL OVER THE PROVINCE IN THE FOLLOWING REGIONS:

Baie-Comeau, Côte Nord – Gatineau – Longueuil, Richelieu St-Laurent – Memphrémagog – Montréal (4) – Prévost, La Rivière du Nord – Québec – Saguenay – Sept-Iles - Valleyfield 

The aim of the Law Enforcement Torch Run is to raise awareness among the general public about Special Olympics and its mission which is to enrich the lives of people with an intellectual disability through sport. Special Olympics Québec would like to thank the law enforcement agencies that made this event a great success : the Service de police de la ville de Montréal, the Sûreté du Québec, the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil, the Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu-Saint-Laurent, the Services correctionnels du Québec, the Service de police de la ville de Québec, the Service de police de la ville de Saguenay, the Service de police de la ville de Gatineau et la Régie de police de Memphrémagog.
