Contest Rules & Information

Raffle tickets may only be purchased by residents of Ontario aged 18 and over.

Tickets will be sold at a cost of $20.00 per ticket.  There is no maximum to the number of tickets an individual may purchase.   A maximum of 705 tickets will be sold in the raffle.  Odds of winning are a minimum of 1/705 for each individual ticket sold, if all tickets are sold.  Odds of winning increase if tickets are not sold out.

The closing date for ticket sales is Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.  The draw will be held at:

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, 4120 Rideau Valley Drive North, Manotick, Ontario on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:00am.

Tickets are available through the following methods: with a credit card at (613) 692-7777 during regular business hours; online with a credit card at guidedogs.ca; by mailing a cheque for $20.00 per ticket to Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, PO Box 280, Manotick, Ontario, K4M 1A3.  Cheques must indicate WestJet raffle in the subject line.  Cheques must be received in the post by Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind no later than Thursday, December 24, 2020.  Tickets may also be available at selected community functions where Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will be represented.

The winner will be contacted by telephone on Monday, December 28, 2020. The winner’s name will be published in Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind social media and in the spring 2021 edition of Side by Side, the magazine/newsletter of Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind. 

The prize is a Gift of Flight from WestJet which is one return trip for two (2) people to any scheduled WestJet destination. 

Things to know about the gift of flight:

Fees, taxes and surcharges are the responsibility of guests traveling and must be paid for at the time of booking.  The voucher does not include optional fees such as checked baggage or cabin upgrades.

The voucher is limited and subject to promotional space availability.  Not all flights have promotional space.  Not valid for redemption on WestJet Vacations’ packages, flights operated by Swoop, interline, code share or charter flights.

Valid for one (1) roundtrip flight for two (2) guests to any regularly scheduled and marketed WestJet destination.  All guests must travel together on the same itinerary, dates and flights.

Flights must be roundtrip to and from the same locations. 

Subject to blackout dates, including statutory holidays and peak travel dates.

All bookings and travel must be completed by December 28, 2021.

Gift of flight vouchers cannot be extended.  Changes to travel dates or guest names are not permitted once a booking has been confirmed.

Voucher becomes null and void if travel is cancelled once a booking is confirmed.

The individual booking the flight must be over the age of majority in their province.

This voucher cannot be sold. In the event that it has been sold, the voucher will become null and void, and any flight bookings made with it will be cancelled immediately without notice or reimbursement. 

Guests travelling on WestJet gift of flight voucher are not entitled to any compensation amounts provided under passenger rights regimes.

WestJet nor Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind are responsible for lost or mishandled vouchers.  Once a voucher has been delivered to the raffle winner, you are directly responsible for it.  It cannot be replaced.
