The Route

Day One of GearUp4CF will take you 100km from the shores of the Pacific Ocean at Crescent Beach to Chilliwack at the end of the Fraser Valley. The beautiful and flat ‘century’ ride through the valley’s country roads offers scenic views and very little elevation gain. The mountains ahead of you will give your eyes a feast as you ride along with both the 1-day and 2-day Riders.
Riders are welcomed upon arrival in Chilliwack and are provided with a celebration dinner at the Coast Hotel. Friends and family are invited to join the dinner celebration at Coast Chiliwack Hotel. Tickets will be available for purchase from May 1.

Day Two will be a test of endurance and strength. After departing Chilliwack, you will enjoy an easy ride to Hope. Here the road climbs to the site of the Hope Slide. The ascent continues on to Allison Summit (elevation: 1,342 m) in BC’s beautiful Manning Provincial Park. Be aware, the weather in the park is unpredictable. It is crucial to be prepared with appropriate clothing for temperatures below 10 degrees celcius, rain, fog and even snow. Once you peak at Allison Pass it is a downhill run to the Manning Park Resort where we will have dinner and celebrate the enormous riding and fundraising efforts that everyone has put in.
The route is subject to change and riders will be informed of the finalized route as soon as it is available. We use Strava for our route mapping.

GearUp4CF is not a race and it is not timed. This is a fully supported ride with aid stations as well as support for riders with flats and mechanical issues, and first aid. Moto support will be provided along the route at the front and back of the riders.

Pit Stops include (* denotes compulsory check in):

White Rock Balsam Comfort Station – toilet stop and water fountains only. No check-in.
*South Abbotsford Church – food and drink, toilet and catch-up stop. Check-in compulsory.
Yarrow Pioneer Park – water and pit stop only. No check-in.
*Coast Chilliwack Hotel – celebration dinner. All riders and their families invited for an additional cost; advanced reservations are required. Check-in compulsory.
Sqéwqel Esso Gas Bar – toilet stop only. No check-in.
*Hope Visitor Centre – food and drink, toilet and catch-up stop. Check-in compulsory.
Hope Slide – toilet stop and water stop only. No check in.
*Rhododendron Flats – pit stop only. We recommend stopping here for a break and some water as this is a very long hill to climb. We will record your number and check on you if you decide to keep riding.
Allison Pass – pit stop only (water). Stop here for a photo of the summit of your ride and some water! A great stop for teams! Then, coast to Manning Park. No check in.
*Manning Park Resort – celebration at our tent as riders arrive at the end of their ride, shower, grab a bite at the pub and jump on the bus for the ride to Vancouver or White Rock. Check-in compulsory.

We will be stopping along the ride home for a fast food dinner for about 20 minutes. Please remember to bring your credit card!

You will be sent rider package emails leading up to GearUp4CF with more information about how to prepare for your ride, including a training plan to #GearUp4CF.

You can pick up your jersey and rider number, and drop off any donations, on Thursday, June 20, between 8:30am and 6:00pm at our office at 301 – 3185 Willingdon Green, Burnaby, V5G 4P3 (by BCIT). Please call 604-436-1158 to access the building after hours.
