Dear Family and Friends,
Happy Autumn! We wanted you to know that this year the Walk/Run for Abilis is on Sunday, October 14th at Tod’s Point here in Old Greenwich. As usual, we’ll be skipping the running part, and focus on the walking and rolling. Joe’s team is called Edelstein 2018 (because it rhymes).
This year, Joe’s day program in the community hasn’t changed much, but there have been some notable changes at Abilis. Thanks to much deserved grants, they now have a LONG overdue new fleet of vehicles and a renovated kitchen in the main building. Most importantly, it has just been announced that Amy Montimurro has been named CEO. This is fabulous news. We have known Amy ever since Joe got involved with Abilis over 15 years ago. She has been a constant in his life and has always been there to guide us on his journey to adulthood. We are thrilled that she is leading Abilis and have great confidence in her ability to take the organization to a bright future.
We really hope that some of you can join us at the event. The 3 Mile Run starts at 9 and the One Mile Walk (and Roll) starts at 11am. We will try to get there by 10:30.
If you can’t make it and would like to contribute, you can sponsor us with a contribution. Abilis is our favorite charity, since they have made Joe’s life and many other lives so meaningful, in countless ways.
Please call or e-mail us with any questions and let us know if you’ll be coming.
Thanks so much. Hope to see you at The Point.
Fondly,
Joe and Pat and Dan
