YWCA WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES® is a pledge-based fundraiser; a symbolic gesture of men marching in women’s heels to raise awareness and money for the issue of family violence.

In 2014, Edmonton police responded to 7,601 domestic violence calls. The sad news is that countless incidents go unreported. Many of the households where domestic violence occurs also have children present – which means there is usually more than one victim.

We need to raise $200,000 to fund YWCA Edmonton violence prevention and recovery programs including our Counselling Centre and GirlSpace after school programs.

All funds raised from this event will help the YWCA provide:

YWCA Edmonton is a women's organization that advances the wellness and growth of women, girls, and families. We strongly believe that ALL violence is unacceptable, and we applaud other campaigns that work to end violence. As a women’s organization, our mission focuses on women and girls.
